Biannual Blogathon Bash Finale

Biannual Blogathon Bash    Well I will call it a successful Blogathon as I need to get some rest for work tomorrow! I got my goals completed and succeeded in a total of 11 hours.  As much as I would like to say I will do one more to get to my goal I really do need some time to wind down and be ready for work tomorrow!

It was fun and I look forward to the next one in June!

Thanks everyone for their support!

Confessions of a Wizard

Biannual Blogathon Bash   This post is my effort to allow you to get to know me better.  You will often hear me on my Blog refer to myself as a Wizard. (No I am NOT a Potter Fanatic)  What I am talking about is the Wizard archetype. An archetype is a universally understood symbol, personality or behaviour.  In many stories and mythology the Hero often receives advice from the Wizard which is simply the "Wise person" in the story that gives the Hero the Secret Knowledge they need to get them started on their quest.

In Star Wars the Hero Luke Skywalker meets the Wizard Obi Wan Kenobi (and later Yoda fills the same role)  In the Matrix the Wizard is Morpheus another well known example of course is Merlin.  Other terms for the Wizard could include Druid, Shaman, Seer, Mystic, Philosopher.

A Wizard loves knowledge.  Myself I love books and I have a multitude of different books on my shelves (and spilling out all over the place really).  I am also a Movie lover which I see as just a visual medium for knowledge.  Wizards love stories and the lessons we learn from them.

I have a deep passion for the magic, music, philosophy and spirituality.  I believe in the power of the human spirit to accomplish amazing things and look forward to sharing the beauty and magic with you to help you in your own growth.

That's my path of service to help others realize the brilliance of themselves. In so doing it will help me connect with my own.

We are all connected! We are all One!

Namaste

Biannual Blogathon Bash   Just wanted to give you an update on my progress with the Blogathon running this weekend.  Friday I was able to get 3 hours work in however Saturday I was out most of the day and didn't get anything done.  Today I have been working so far about 2 hours for a total of five hours.  That means I have 7 hours left to achieve my goal of 12 hours.

I got a Facebook page up for the Blog and want to thank those who have already "liked" my page.  I am going to get some posts up shortly so you can get an idea of what you can expect from the Blog!

Biannual Blogathon: Blogging (You Gotta Start Somewhere)

Biannual Blogathon Bash  I have been wanting to start my Blog for awhile now. Started a couple of years ago but let it fall to the wayside.  Now I am excited to be starting it again.  My sister has been really helpful in getting me started.  For the Blogathon I wanted to get really clear about my Blogging goals.  I feel its important to get clear on your goals. You need to know where you want to go or you will really go nowhere.

Of course I would love to make money from my Blog but more importantly its important that I start expressing myself.  We are creative beings and I am looking forward to expressing my own creativity.  I want to create a Blog that inspires and challenges what we might think about the world around us.

I hope to share some of my favorite books, movies, really anything and anyone who inspires me.  I am working on commiting myself to a post at least once a week (But hopefully more)

There is a lot of Wisdom and Magic I want to share with you!

Freebie Fridays: Come Join Me In The Blogathon Bash!

One thing I have been working on is trying to devote more time to working on my blog.  My sister is putting together an event to help those of us that maybe need an extra kick to get started. What motivates better than to make it a Bash! A party!

You know all those items on your Blogging To Do list? Those things you've been meaning to get to but haven't had a chance? Now's your chance to get a large amount of them done!

The event will take place on a weekend and will run for 72 hours. 8am Friday to 8am Monday EST.

The idea is that you do what you can that weekend post your progress. Throughout the event, there will be check in posts announcing any current mini challenges (I'll be hosting my own along with my sister), fun and helpful links and photos and a chance to comment with how you are doing.

We are still accepting sponsors for prizes for participants. How many prizes we get will determine how you can win.

What can you do? Anything! Some ideas:

  1. Transfer your blog to wordpress (if you want)
  2. Write up some blog posts and schedule them.
  3. Catch up on reviews or other posts.
  4. Start a new blog meme or event
  5. Brainstorm ideas for blog.
  6. Start a Social Media profile you don't have yet./
  7. Change the Design/Template of your blog.
  8. Do the "paperwork" of having a blog
  9. Moderate/Pick Winners of Giveaways that have ended.
  10. Review an Item
  11. Clean up your labels/tags
  12. Backup your blog
  13. and lots more....

As you can see it doesn't have to always involve the blog directly, maybe not even the computer. You could be sorting review items in your house, brainstorming with pen and paper, or cleaning up your email box.

We hope you will join us!  Participate as much as you can!
